I recently replaced my Arctic Commuter boots with these ankle Excursion. First I thought the commuters were great. The excursion a bit less. Looks wise they have a better sole from the side but the molded shape around the foot and the little cleat on the back are not very appealing. There is a slight imperfection in the boots making them look a bit like they are both for the same foot. It’s subtle but if I focus on it, it bugs me. The grip is better, quite good on ice and a lot quieter when walking on floors. The cleat for helping to remove the boot is useless. It’s too high and the other boot flexes too much when trying to use it. It has a lower heal so the boot feels more like a running shoe and less like a boot. They are however super light and comfortable. All in all they are good boots but are less attractive than other muck boots.
Have not received my boots yet 😞
After time the sole overlay had separation on areas of both boots, certainly annoying as the rubber was folding under my steps. No water intrusion though. Actually bought some Bogs to replace them. But I ended up going back. I fixed them up with a good clean and shoe-goo (with extra shoe-goo around all other seams). Worth the headache as I find these very comfortable, easy on/off (which is way better than the Bogs), upper is in great shape, good for cold weather and, most importantly, still waterproof.
Ordered dec 4th. Still haven't received my order. Can't review boots that I don't have.
Was expecting this boots to be warm and insulated like the discription states. there is next to nothing for insulation and in our climate our temperatures can go as low as -40 deg c. These boots will not help with warmth for that low.
