A Horse Tale - rescue, rehabilitate, rehome and/or retire horses in need

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN LIVES...BOTH EQUINE AND HUMAN

With approximately 400 dedicated members and volunteers, A Horse Tale have established an organization that is trying to make a difference. They rescue, re-home and provide a loving and caring “forever home” for those horses that they can save.

A Horse Tale (AHT) originated when founder Kerri Fenoff’s love for a horse named Tucker led her to save 15 Appaloosas in 2012. This transformative moment laid the foundation for their vision and mission: to build a purposeful organization dedicated to rescuing horses in need.

Supporting the horses ultimately means supporting individuals who benefit from the AHT Experience program.

The AHT Experience offers free equine-assisted interactions to individuals with special needs. Focused on mental health and physical well-being, the program, held at their facility or remote locations, involves rescued horses and facilitators. Participants, spanning various organizations, benefit from the therapeutic effects of horse contact. The initiative emphasizes community support, mindfulness, and trust-building, providing respite and opportunities for learning and personal growth. AHTE contributes to breaking isolation, fostering relaxation, reflection, and renewed energy, embodying the vision of giving back to the community through the unique and invaluable connection between humans and horses.

The AHT consists of a group of amazing and dedicated volunteers and Board of Directors such as Mike Grenier (Executive Director) and Caroline Handy (Barn Manager) who help guide new volunteers on how to assist with feeds, mucking stalls and medical emergencies when possible.
